Ireland Supreme Court rules Subway’s bread is not legally bread
The Ireland Supreme Court says that Subway’s bread is too sugary to be considered bread. Yahoo Finance’s On The Move panel shares the details.

JULIE HYMAN: Well, as we take you to break, I have a fun story for you, perhaps. Ireland's Supreme Court has ruled that bread sold by Subway contains so much sugar that it can't legally be defined as bread. This was part of a tax dispute that was brought by an Irish Subway franchisee. And the case rested on whether the bread for Subway sandwiches counts as a staple food, and therefore would not be taxed. It looks like it did not indeed fall into that category-- the smells that waft from Subways all over the world notwithstanding.
