In the market for a new gig in 2019?

On Thursday LinkedIn published its list of the most promising jobs – the top 15 jobs with high salaries, strong job openings, year-over-year growth, and likeliness to lead to a promotion.

The jobs and networking site combed through millions of member profiles, job openings, and salaries to come up with its list. The jobs that made the cut had high salaries, strong job openings, and offered workers a strong possibility of getting a promotion.

At the top of the list: data scientist, site reliability engineer, and enterprise account executive. The median base salary for a data scientist – which came in ninth on the list last year – is $130,000. There are over 4,000 job openings on LinkedIn for data scientists – a 56% increase over last year. This job has a career advancement score of 9 out of 10. (More on LinkedIn’s methodology below.)

Site reliability engineer, someone who identifies risks to plant or business operations, has a median base salary of $200,000, a career advancement score of 9 out of 10, and over 1,400 job openings, a 72% increase compared to last year.

Enterprise account executive has a median base salary of $182,000, a career advancement score of 9 out of 10, and over 1,000 job openings, up 62% from last year.

The jobs with the most year-over-year growth in job openings are information technology lead with a 141% increase over last year, machine learning engineer at 96%, and cloud architect with an 88% increase.

As for skills most in demand these days, LinkedIn says creativity, time management, collaboration, adaptability, and persuasion are the five soft skills employers value the most.

Cloud computing, UX design, artificial intelligence, people management, and analytical reasoning are the five most in-demand hard skills.
