Scaramucci: 'Trump should go to jail'

Donald Trump’s former White House Communications director Anthony Scaramucci said the president should go to jail for inspiring a mob of Trump supporters to storm the U.S. Capitol.

“I predict that he will go to jail for sedition and the causing of this insurrection,” Scaramucci told Yahoo Finance Live. “We had the American president of the United States not accepting a peaceful transfer of power, abusing the vice president, and then calling for his supporters to incite an insurrection and storm the Capitol Building.”

In a two-minute video Thursday night, Trump finally admitted that he was defeated in the 2020 presidential election without mentioning President-elect Joe Biden’s name.

Scaramucci founded the investment firm SkyBridge Capital in 2005 but served 10 days in the Trump administration in 2017. The “Mooch” as he is sometimes called said he maintains contact with people close to Trump.

“I understand from my sources inside the White House right now, he's contemplating, he's got 13 or so days left to go, and he's contemplating pardoning himself,” Scaramucci said.

The president’s pardon powers would only apply to federal crimes, not state, so anyone granted a pardon would be open to prosecution from states’ attorneys general.

Russia’s ‘most useful idiot’

Scaramucci called Trump “the most useful idiot to the Russian government,” adding “what he did yesterday in the spectacle that he provided on the world stage is nothing but wonder and joy for our adversaries.”

Scaramucci also directed his wrath over the mob attack at members of Congress — Republican Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) — who he said aided and abetted Trump’s “malignant narcissism.”

Cruz and Hawley led opposition in Congress Wednesday as lawmakers certified the Electoral College results that President-elect Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election.

“I think those two characters are Frankenstein monster babies, trumping the Frankenstein monster. And those two acolytes, who are full on traitors to the United States, should also be impeached and removed from office,” Scaramucci said. “They are two disgusting people and they are full on traitors to the United States.”

Mooch is also calling on Congress to impeach Trump.

On Thursday, top Democrats, U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and presumptive Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, called Vice President Mike Pence and Trump’s Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and immediately remove Trump from office.

“I'm telling you guys, we got 13 days to go unless these public officials that have sworn an oath to the Constitution, remove him,” Scaramucci warned. “He's going to do more damage over the next 13 days.”
