Apple Struggles to Recover From Extended Services Outage
Apple struggled to recover from a massive multi-hour outage late Thursday afternoon that took down the App Store, iCloud services, Apple Photos, iWork and other services. Users started reporting issues with these services around 1pm Thursday, and multiple services remained unavailable until close to 3pm, according to Apple’s services status page.
Apple’s Game Center was also affected by the outage, and some users reported issues with Apple Music and Apple News as well, according to Macrumors. Most services seem to have come online again in the afternoon, but some users continue to have issues with iCloud and iWork services, according to Apple.
There’s no word yet on what caused the services outage; we’ve reached out to Apple and will update this post once new information becomes available.
