All the deals happening right now to compete with Amazon Prime Day sales
Prime Day was off to a rocky start, with the site intermittently down for most users at the much anticipated 3 p.m. ET start time. But even if you’re boycotting the imagined holiday, there’s a good chance you’ll see its ripple effects as you peruse the internet.
As brick and mortar retailers experience less foot traffic during and after Prime Day, many of them are banking on slashed prices online to lure customers away from Amazon.com. Here are a list of companies that are offering some special deals in the spirit of Prime.
Aeropostale – The teen retailer is hosting an “online only” sale, with clothing marked down up to 70%. It’s also offering free shipping for the next day and a half.
American Eagle (AEO) – Everything online is 25% off (including jeans) through Tuesday.
Best Buy (BBY) – The electronics store is taking on Amazon’s tech deals. You can save up to $350 on select MacBook Pros and some steep discounts on HDTVs. The sale ends Tuesday.
eBay (EBAY) – The online marketplace is throwing shade at Amazon’s Prime subscription, which now costs $119 annually. The banner on the site touts “No Memberships. Just Kick-Ass. 1 day of deals?! We’re here all year. With free shipping, always.” Today’s featured deals include half-off KitchenAid Mixers and 2-for-1 Google Homes.
JCPenney (JCP) – The discount retailer is offering an online-only sale dubbed “Cyber in July” for not two, but three days, ending on July 18. There’s an extra 30% off across select items across apparel, shoes, accessories, jewelry and home goods — with no minimum purchase required.
Kohl’s (KSS) – The retailer is offering $10 off purchases of $50 or more — until Tuesday. Plus, you get $10 store credit (“Kohl’s cash”) for every $50 spent through Wednesday. You can redeem that credit until July 29.
Macy’s (M) – Over the past week, Macy’s marked down several items by 25%, billing the event as “Black Friday in July.” Starting Monday morning, the retailer — which is the No. 1 destination among online apparel retailers, is offering free shipping on everything (on top of a 25% sale across the board).
Nordstrom (JWN) is offering its annual early access “Anniversary Sale,” now through July 19 — for cardmembers only. It’s the company’s attempt at getting individuals to sign up for discounts that range between 15-30%.
Walmart (WMT) has a summer sale going on, calling it “Ultimate Summer Specials,” which include an HD Roku Streaming Stick, which retails for $35 (marked down from $50) and connected home devices that are up to 30% off. Walmart has a policy of free shipping on orders of $35 or more.
