Hansae Enhances Supply Chain Capabilities and Portfolio Diversity with Texollini Acquisition

With over 40 years of manufacturing expertise under its belt, Hansae Co., Ltd. is taking its business to the next level with its latest acquisition.

In August, the Seoul-based global garment producer announced its purchase of U.S. textile manufacturer Texollini. Through this acquisition, Hansae, which exports 300 million articles of clothing annually from 12 corporations across six countries, hopes to strengthen its position in the global fashion industry. This follows other Hansae investments in the Western Hemisphere aimed at bolstering its quick-turn and vertical capacities.

“By integrating Texollini’s expertise in synthetic fiber production, Hansae plans to strengthen its supply chain capabilities and address the growing trend of nearshoring in the Central American region,” Jun Chung, vice president of strategy and planning at Hansae, said. “This move complements Hansae’s existing growth strategies, including its vertical complex in Guatemala and expansion efforts at its third clothing and textiles factory in Vietnam.”

Established in 1989, Texollini is a prominent domestic mill located in Long Beach, California that serves notable buyers including New Balance, Champion, Patagonia and Alo Yoga. The facility is known for its comprehensive capabilities in synthetic fibers, including knitting, design, research and development, dyeing, printing and finishing.

Texollini operates from a state-of-the-art, 200,000-square-foot facility that is strategically positioned near major transportation routes—highway, ocean, air and rail, according to Chung. This location enhances its capacity to support made-in-USA initiatives and aligns with global trends in the fashion business.

The mill is also fully automated and computer-monitored, enabling around-the-clock operations across its knitting, dyeing and printing processes.

“[The] acquisition of Texollini marks the milestone of Hansae’s long desire for synthetic fiber and related product infusion in our category mix,” Chung said. “Adding Texollini’s technology and know-how on synthetic fiber development will be implemented in Hansae’s current product development of activewear, as well as the development of new styles including intimates and swimwear.”

Manufacturing capabilities

In addition to its strategic positioning, Texollini also has “extensive manufacturing capabilities,” according to Hansae.
