Hyatt Hotels is to rebrand Thompson Playa del Carmen Main House and Beach House in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, as Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen.

The hotel is to open later this year and will offer a modern lifestyle hotel experience.

It will offer two distinct accommodation choices, an adults-only option at the ‘Downtown House’ and family-friendly suites at the ‘Beach House’.

Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen will be the second Hyatt Centric-branded hotel in Mexico, following Hyatt Centric Campestre León.

The hotel is located on Fifth Avenue, known as 'La Quinta Avenida', and features 119 guest rooms and suites, including 92 at the Downtown House and 27 at the Beach House.

It features amenities such as floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in rain showers, outdoor balconies and plunge pools, as well as semi-outdoor event spaces, designed by architectural company Niz + Chauvet.

The Downtown House features a rooftop infinity pool, swim-up bar, and luxury cabanas, all set against the backdrop of the Caribbean Sea.

The 'Beach House' offers an oceanfront pool and a restaurant that highlights local seafood and seasonal ingredients.

In addition to the rebranding in Mexico, Hyatt has announced the opening of AluaSoul Costa Adeje in Tenerife, Spain, expanding the brand's presence in the Canary Islands.

Part of the Alua Hotels & Resorts brand within Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection portfolio, the hotel offers all-inclusive services with multiple boarding options.

AluaSoul Costa Adeje features 226 guest rooms, most with private balconies or terraces, and upgraded accommodations through the My Favorite Club.

Guests at AluaSoul Costa Adeje can avail a variety of dining options, a poolside snack bar, two bars, and an on-site spa.

The hotel is also equipped with three meeting rooms for events, accommodating up to 300 guests.

The hotel’s opening is part of Hyatt’s expansion in the EAME [Europe, the Middle East and Africa] region with other recent openings, including Grand Hyatt Barcelona, Dreams Madeira Resort, Spa & Marina, Hyatt Centric Cairo West and all Berlin East Side.

The expansion will continue throughout this year and next year with planned openings such as Andaz Doha, Thompson Rome, and Thompson Seville.
