Santander’s Getnet brings unified e-commerce payment to LatAm market

Getnet, a payment solutions provider of Santander, has launched Getnet SEP, a new e-commerce payment solution serving as a single entry point (SEP) for merchants operating across Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Mexico.

This service simplifies the integration process for a range of payment services, offering a single, direct connection to Getnet's offerings.

Getnet SEP is designed to be scalable and flexible, enabling merchants to easily add or change payment providers, penetrate new markets, and adopt advanced payment technologies.

Claimed to be the only bank in Latin America to provide this single integration, Getnet is expected to revolutionise the way regional and large enterprises handle online transactions.

These platforms span various sectors, including subscription-based entertainment and online marketplaces.

Getnet SEP aims to ease the complexities involved in integrating sales, refunds, anti-fraud measures, subscriptions and tokenisation, thereby reducing the technical challenges merchants face.

Getnet global CEO Kush Saxena said: “Getnet by Santander will revolutionise Latin American e-commerce, being the only bank in the region offering this single integration. The launch of Getnet SEP demonstrates our ongoing commitment to simplicity, speed and safety.

Currently, Getnet customers in Brazil utilising "Plataforma Digital" and those in Argentina can access Getnet SEP. The service is expected to be rolled out to merchants in Chile and Mexico in the coming weeks.

This move aligns with the anticipated surge in the Latin American e-commerce market, which is projected to exceed €800bn by 2026, states Santander.

As part of PagoNxt, a paytech business within Santander, Getnet offers comprehensive support throughout the integration process.

Recently, Santander UK partnered with Token.io, which offers account-to-account (A2A) payment infrastructure.
