Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the General Industrial, Travel&Leisure and Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Bunzl PLC (LON:BNZL), which rose 7.97% or 256.00 points to trade at 3,470.00 at the close. Meanwhile, EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) added 6.90% or 30.90 points to end at 478.80 and Smurfit Kappa Group PLC (LON:SWR) was up 2.97% or 101.00 points to 3,505.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Barratt Developments PLC (LON:BDEV), which fell 6.56% or 36.20 points to trade at 515.60 at the close. Berkeley Group Holdings PLC (LON:BKGH) declined 4.32% or 225.00 points to end at 4,980.00 and Persimmon PLC (LON:PSN) was down 4.31% or 73.50 points to 1,632.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 939 to 833 and 701 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bunzl PLC (LON:BNZL) rose to all time highs; rising 7.97% or 256.00 to 3,470.00.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.36% or 9.30 to $2,545.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.04% or 1.58 to hit $75.84 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 1.41 to trade at $78.95 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.32, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 100.65.
