U.S Senate coronavirus help bill again fails to clear first procedural hurdle
WASHINGTON, March 23 (Reuters) - After days of around-the-clock negotiating, the U.S. Senate on Monday again failed to advance legislation that would pump well over $1 trillion into the American economy to programs to help companies losing business during the coronavirus outbreak.
The measure faltered after it failed to get the necessary 60 votes in the 100-member chamber to clear it over a procedural hurdle. (Reporting by Susan Cornwell Editing by Chris Reese)
