Royce Investment Partner co-chief investment officer Francis Gannon joins Wealth to discuss the implications for the small-cap sector. Gannon notes that the investment thesis for small-caps remains largely unchanged from before the election. He points out that the small-cap index has delivered a negative 1% return over the past 3 years, with the index's peak occurring 3 years ago on Nov. 8. However, Gannon believes that Trump's victory, coupled with a favorable earnings season, will provide a significant boost to the small-cap index, which he describes as a "revolution" going forward. "I think part of the small-cap story is that many of the trends in place yesterday, even before the election, are going to continue," he states. Gannon advises investors to focus on more economically sensitive areas of the market, such as industrials and materials. He expects an "American-focused opportunity" to emerge in the small-cap space over the next several years under the new administration. McCormick believes the bullish momentum in the dollar trade is just getting started. "There's a fundamental story here," he explains. "US asset markets, US equities, [and] the terminal rates have already been repriced higher. All of these things have legs and now have a continuation." With uncertainty lingering around other global currencies, McCormick sees the clearest trade opportunity as "buying into US exceptionalism with a much stronger US dollar coming through the first part of next year." Gerber Kawasaki Wealth & Investment Management CEO Ross Gerber joins Seana Smith and Madison Mills on Catalysts to discuss what's next for Tesla and Musk. "Certainly, it puts Elon in the driver's seat as far as access to the White House," Kawasaki says, adding, "I think there's this difference between what's great for Elon and what's sort of great for Tesla." He explains for Tesla, the Trump win, "I would assume that this would help them [in] getting at least on a federal regulatory basis, get some of the heat off of them, because they have so many investigations. On a state level, it doesn't help them at alL, as far as getting approvals for robotaxis and such. You know, what I really think is it's too early to determine if Trump's going to roll back the subsidies to EVs, and this will hopefully prevent that from happening and hurting Tesla and, hence, the rally." Kawasaki notes, "I'm not buying any more [Tesla shares at this point]. You know, we've been lowering our stake in Tesla because it was our top position several years ago. We made a lot of money. We still think the challenges Tesla faces to get full self-driving to work are not going to be solved by Donald Trump coming into the White House." He adds, if anything, Musk's relationship with Trump could distract him from working at Tesla. He says, "If you want to own Tesla, you should. It's kind of what I say about bitcoin (BTC-USD). If you want to own bitcoin, own bitcoin. I can't tell you what it's going to do ... [Tesla is] part of our risk bucket in our portfolio and it's just not the biggest risk that we're taking today, which is more in things like computer chips like Nvidia (NVDA) because Tesla and Elon are sending all their money to Nvidia. And that's my preferred play right now in the market over the next several years." To watch more expert insights and analysis on the latest market action, check out more Catalysts here. Yahoo Finance ? 7 hours ago ^GSPC ^DJI ^IXIC Will Elon Musk's 'big bet' on Trump pay off for him and Tesla? Billionaire Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk has been vocal in his support for former President Donald Trump's election campaign. Intelligent Alpha CEO and founder and Deepwater Asset Management managing partner Doug Clinton sits down with Josh Lipton on Market Domination Overtime to discuss what the election outcome means for Musk and how his political involvement affects investors. "It will be a very interesting night for Elon Musk," Clinton says, adding, "He's obviously made a really big bet on the election going one direction. And I think if it goes against him if Kamala Harris is elected president, I think it probably is a negative for him." He notes that Tesla could stand to benefit from a Harris presidency, given she could provide further tax incentives for electric vehicles as part of a green energy push. Clinton says that Musk will likely "find some way to try to mend fences and say, 'Look, obviously, it didn't go the way that we were campaigning, but we have this agenda that actually does very much align with some of the principles of the Democratic Party.' I mean, Elon probably has done more for bringing sustainable energy into the markets, kind of into the mass markets, really in the US and globally than maybe anybody else in the world." As an investor in Musk's companies, Clinton says, "We try to separate [Musk's companies from his politics]. At Deepwater, we are investors in xAI, and we're big believers that there's basically four companies on Earth that have a chance to build the foundation models that power sort of everything. It's Meta (META) with Llama, it's Google (GOOG, GOOGL) [with] Gemini, OpenAI with GPT, and then xAI with Grok. So that investment is really built, I think, more on just what can they do from a technical perspective."
