Sony Group Quarterly Profit Jumps on Strength in Game, Image-Sensor Businesses
Sony Group reported a rise in second-quarter net profit, supported by higher earnings from its game and image-sensor businesses. The Japanese entertainment and electronics company said Friday that net profit climbed 69% from a year earlier to 338.50 billion yen, equivalent to $2.21 billion, for the three months ended September. Its entertainment businesses, such as games, music and movies, made up nearly 60% of overall revenue in its latest fiscal year, up from about 30% a decade earlier.
