On today's episode of Wealth!, Host Brad Smith breaks down what you need to know about earnings this week, the housing market, changes to Medicare coverage, and budgeting.

Bond yields (^TYX, ^TNX, ^FVX) resume climbing after experiencing the worst sell-off in six months. Armory Group co-founder and CEO Nick Tell explains: "The duration trade really got ahead of itself with the expectation that the Fed [Federal Reserve] was going to cut a lot quicker than ultimately I think they're going to."

Several household names are reporting quarterly earnings this week. Brad Smith examines some of the biggest names reporting this week and what their earnings could signal about the state of the consumer.

Home prices hit a new record high in August, but are experiencing the slowest growth in more than a year, according to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Home Price Index. Yahoo Finance Senior Housing Reporter Dani Romero breaks down the data and what it signals about the state of the housing market.

It's the Medicare open enrollment period, and significant changes are coming to Medicare Advantage plans starting in 2025. Personal finance expert and author of "The Savage Truth on Money," Terry Savage emphasizes that anyone with Medicare drug coverage "must check in with what your drug coverage will be next year." She notes that drug companies have eliminated some drugs, only chosen generics, and moved certain drugs into tiers with higher co-pays, meaning "you must do the search for how your drugs are covered."

When planning for an emergency, preparedness in your finances may be overlooked. Sun Group Wealth Partners managing director Winnie Sun notes that a "financial first-aid kit" is what you or a loved one need to take care of in case of an emergency. The contents of your financial first aid kit will vary as each individual is different, but it could include the necessary documents to file taxes, a living trust, contact information for your financial advisor, and credit card statements, among other documents. All of this financial information needs to be in one safe location that is quickly accessible.
