The ongoing Boeing (BA) strike has cost an estimated $9.66 billion in combined losses, according to calculations from the Anderson Economic Group. Anderson Economic Group CEO Patrick Anderson explains the firm considers new wages, losses to suppliers, data from previous strikes, and other factors when calculating its estimates. He says, “In this particular case, you see Boeing losing quite a bit. The biggest single chunk here is loss earnings for Boeing, which we're estimating at $5.5 billion — that's loss earnings flowing through to their shareholders."
Apple is set to report fourth quarter earnings on Thursday. Investors are looking to see if the newly revealed Apple Intelligence features will have a noticeable impact. TECHanalysis Research president and chief analyst Bob O'Donnell explains, "As of today, it's Apple semi-intelligence because we're not quite totally there yet." Despite rolling out features like gen-moji and text-writing capabilities, the company faces the same challenge as its competitors: "convincing consumers that this AI stuff matters."
