Paramount's 'glory days' are probably over: Brian Stelter
According to reports from The Wall Street Journal, Paramount Global (PARA) executives are considering the potential ouster of current CEO Bob Bakish. The report adds that Paramount Global Chairman Shari Redstone has lost confidence in Bakish.
Vanity Fair Special Correspondent Brian Stelter joins The Morning Brief to give insight into the reports of the C-suite shake-up at Paramount and what it could mean for the company and its shareholders moving forward.
Stelter questions the value of a leadership shake-up: "If you've been in this company for years, you know how far it's fallen. The glory days of MTV, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central — can those days ever come back? Probably not. I think a lot of curiosity about what David Ellison would do, how would he unlock value? There are reports that he would bring in former NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell to run the company day-to-day, but what exactly would they be doing differently, so differently than Bob Bakish?"
