Target jumps on earnings beat, Fed minutes in focus: Yahoo Finance
Target (TGT) shares are soaring after posting second quarter results that topped analyst estimates on both the top and bottom lines, reporting diluted earnings of $2.57 per share compared to the $2.18 estimate. The retailer also raised its full-year profit guidance.
Wall Street is also anxious for the minutes from the Federal Reserve’s July meeting. Traders want to know how much discussion there was about a potential rate cut and will be searching for hints as to what Fed Chair Jerome Powell may say at his big Jackson Hole speech on Friday.
