Skyward Specialty Insurance has expanded its portfolio with the introduction of a new life sciences liability insurance product to address the risks faced by the life sciences sector.

This new offering provides a comprehensive solution, including coverage for products-completed operations, E&O and medical professionals liability.

The life sciences industry is known for its complex risks, necessitating insurance that is both specialised and informed by industry knowledge.

Skyward Specialty's latest offering is said to provide a complete package that unifies “best-in-class” underwriting with internal claims management to cover a broad spectrum of liabilities.

Julie Miglin, Skyward Specialty's vice-president of life sciences, heads the new proposition.

Miglin, who joined the company in August, has more than 15 years of industry experience including stints at Chubb and Beazley.

Her expertise in life sciences and health technology is expected to drive Skyward Specialty towards becoming a crucial player in the life sciences liability insurance market.

Skyward Specialty provides a variety of commercial property and casualty products and solutions. Its operations span eight underwriting divisions.

The company's subsidiary insurance companies include Houston Specialty Insurance, Imperium Insurance, Great Midwest Insurance and Oklahoma Specialty Insurance.

In August this year, Skyward Specialty partnered with Acceleration Aviation Underwriters to offer a comprehensive aviation insurance programme.
