GoTo Group, Tencent Holdings (TCEHY, Financials), and Alibaba's (BABA, Financials) Cloud division have signed agreements to strengthen cloud infrastructure and digital talent development in Indonesia.

Attended by President Prabowo Subianto and enabled by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce Tiongkok Committee, the announcement was made during the Indonesia-China Business Forum in Beijing.

The agreements emphasize on helping Indonesia's digital economy and complementing the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. The corporations will engage with the Indonesian government to provide the workforce the required digital competencies.

Tencent Cloud intends to build a third Internet Data Center in Indonesia in line with a $500 million infrastructure and resources expenditure by 2030. The funding seeks to improve local businesses using cutting-edge cloud and artificial intelligence technologies.

Having three data centers in Indonesia, Alibaba Cloud has taught around 400,000 people in cloud computing and artificial intelligence. In line with its academic goal, the business intends to raise this number to 800,000 by 2033 and build a skills center at Universitas Indonesia.

The arrangements expand on the cloud service contracts of Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud announced in September 2024, to guarantee GoTo's data stays onshore and strengthens user data protection.
