Longview Economics Founder CEO & chief market strategist Chris Watling joins Catalysts to discuss his outlook on stock markets (^DJI, ^IXIC, ^GSPC) for 2025.
"To me, this market is rotating into cyclical stuff," Watling states, saying, "Next year's going to be great global growth as long as we don't get too many tariffs too quickly."
He points to the attractiveness of bonds, saying, "We need lower bond yields to get this economy accelerated." While investors view this as a growth market, Watling points out that certain sectors, like housing and manufacturing, have not experienced significant moves to the upside.
Nonetheless, Watling says, "I honestly think the economy will do well next year as long as we keep getting the rate cuts and the whole yield curve comes down."
